Crafting Clothing

Clothing can be purchased from vendors, looted from monsters, or crafted using the tailoring skill. Creating clothing builds a player’s tailoring skill. The more skill, the better clothing a player can manufacture. A sewing kit or sewing machine can be used to create clothing. Clothing can also be sold to vendors to earn money. There are 5 types of materials that can be used to create clothing. Here are the steps, from resources to finished product, for becoming a master tailor:
Cotton: Buy seeds from a farmer. Plant the seeds in your own realm or a “friended” realm. When the cotton matures, harvest it and use a spinning wheel to turn it into thread. Then use a loom to create cotton cloth. Next, use a sewing machine or a sewing kit to produce your final product. Cotton tends to yield a higher ethereal resistance.
Wool: Shear sheep for wool (shears can be purchased from a tailor or blacksmith) or gather wool from a dead sheep. Use the spinning wheel on the wool to create yarn. Weave the yarn into wool cloth using a loom, then use a sewing kit or a sewing machine to create the final product. Wool tends to yield a higher crush resistance.
Leather: Take animal hides from dead animals and turn them to leather by using the hide stretcher (or buy leather from the rancher). Use the sewing machine or the sewing kit to create the final product. Leather tends to yield a higher pierce resistance.
Silk: Buy silk thread from the tailor or harvest it from a dead larva. Use the loom to turn the silk into cloth, then use the sewing kit or sewing machine to create the final product. Silk tends to yield a higher psionic resistance.
Metal: Blacksmithing is coming soon. Currently, metal armor can be purchased from vendors or looted from monsters. Metal tends to yield a higher slash resistance.
Special Materials: Rare materials such as enchanted cotton and silk can be looted from monsters. Clothing made with these materials will include magic bonuses. Each will yield higher resistance in their specialty resistance category.
